Speech Therapy
Pediatric Speech Therapy (SLP)
Our Speech and Language Pathologists focus on improving communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. We provide treatment for receptive language such as following directions, pointing to pictures, pointing to body parts, and understanding verbal directions and written language. We address expressive language by improving vocabulary, use of words and grammar, sentence length and pragmatic language (appropriate use of language within social contexts).
Our Speech and Language Pathologists work on pre-language skills such as: joint attention, imitation skills, and/or turn taking skills needed for more advanced communication. We also work with the child to improve articulation of specific speech sounds and overall intelligibility.
