Who we are
Helping Hands Therapy Services, PLLC, (HHTS) is a privately owned pediatric therapy practice providing physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy , as well as early intervention and developmental educational services to children of all ages. Established in 2012, Helping Hands Therapy Services proudly serves families throughout Hampton Roads. We provide Early Intervention Services to clients in Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach as well as outpatient clinic-based therapy services at our clinic in Chesapeake, and our new clinic in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Our goal is to facilitate positive growth and development by maximizing the child’s functional abilities. We do this by establishing a collaborative environment between provider and caregiver through practice of the coaching model, demonstration of therapeutic techniques and methods, and providing education and resources for families.
Our skilled therapists develop comprehensive and personalized treatment plans to accommodate the needs of each family we serve. We promote a collaborative environment with parents and caregivers to enrich and empower children in all areas of development and personal growth.

Our Journey
Founded by Kathleen Yopp, Helping Hands Therapy Services opened its doors in 2012 serving patients in Norfolk, Virginia. Since then, it has grown to also serve clients in the cities of Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. The main mission of Helping Hands is to facilitate positive growth and development using whole-body, holistic approaches and both non-traditional and traditional therapy techniques that best support the child and family.
Kathleen has been in the field of pediatric therapy for over twenty years. Her insight and expertise has allowed Helping Hands to grow to the company it is now. While Kathleen is an Occupational Therapist by trade, her company provides a variety of services to include physical therapy, occupational therapy , speech therapy, early intervention, and developmental education services.
Helping Hands Therapy Services believes in every child’s future and that children are the hands that change the world. It is the hope of Helping Hands that they are able to bring the assistance and support to every child they meet.
